But that is not the case this time around.... It turns out that we had a "chemical pregnancy". Which basically means that we successfully got pregnant, however there was something wrong with the egg so it aborted. These home pregnancy tests now a days are really sensitive and can tell you that you are pregnant really early in a pregnancy. Which obviously has it's downsides. But this was the first time we ever got a yes from a test. Ever. How could I not believe it...
Anyways, I have been really on the wall about if I wanted to continue posting or wait until it happens again.
In any case, we now know that we can, in fact, get pregnant. Hopefully this will be our month!

Pinch me! I need this to feel real!
Welcome! We figured the easiest way to keep all of our friends and family informed of the baby's progress was to make a blog. (Thank you interwebs and technology!)
Let us give you a little back story. We have been trying to get pregnant for almost two years now. In December 2010, we were diagnosed with "unexplained infertility", which means that they couldn't find anything wrong with either of us but they didn't know why it wasn't happening. So we tried on our own again for another three months with no success. Finally in April, we decided to "get science involved". Jenna was prescribed Clomid, which helps boost ovulation and then we had an IUI (intra-uterine insemination) done.
After two full weeks of Jenna obsessing and of both of our suspicions that we succeeded, we received a positive home pregnancy test on Saturday morning!
We haven't told anyone yet, we wanted to get confirmation from the hospital, but there is no doubt in our mind that we have a baby growing right now. :) We are going to keep this a secret from most of the world until after the first trimester, only close family will know. But I wanted to keep a blog going from now until then to catch everyone up on appointments and such.
We are super excited that our family is growing. And we are glad to share this journey with you all. :)

It's really faint, but trust us, it's there! |
