Hello Second Trimester! {14 weeks!}

Let me start off by saying that I feel so much better most of the time now. Thank you Jesus. I get mild headaches and I am trying to ween myself off after work naps. But most food doesn't upset my stomach, so that's good.

We are in the middle of our move right now. This weekend we had a friend help us move all of our big furniture over, so our house looks more like a {messy} house. We still have some stuff at our old place but we plan on getting that all out this weekend. With all that being said we currently do not have access to the internet at either of our houses. I was able to draft something up though and publish it from my phone. :) Yay technology!

Okay, about the baby... We had an appointment on Monday (which was Brad's birthday). It was a really uneventful appointment and I heard that that is a good thing. We only got to hear the heartbeat, which was really fast and super cute. But I have a doppler at home to do that, I wanted to seeeeee the bean. I also got bit by a bug on the Sunday before my appointment so I had them look at that because it was red and swollen. They gave me some cortisone and it's now pretty much gone.
Our next appointment is on September 26th for a routine check up. I have to call on September 7th to set up our ultrasound to have the gender scan! I am hoping to get in on or around October 3rd! I can't wait to find our what we are having! I flip flop between thinking it's a boy or a girl ALL the time. One of my friends thinks we are having a girl (she keeps dreaming about her) and one of my coworkers thinks it's a boy. In a little over a month we will know for sure! I am still trying to think of something fun to do for the gender reveal. I am thinking that cake will be involved. Mmm, cake...

I did take a quick picture this morning of the baby bump. :)

The bean is about the size of a lemon this week. I didn't have any lemons on hand, but can I say that lemonade sounds delicious right now...
This is what BabyCenter.com says about the bean this week:
Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

I was hoping that we would have had a new picture of the bean this week but I guess we have to wait until the gender scan. *sigh*

13 weeks!

According to some books I am officially out of the first trimester, according to others it is until next week. All I know is, this week I have thrown up for the first time this whole pregnancy, TWICE. For those people who say that you feel better in the second trimester, I think that only pertains to people who throw up their entire first trimester, because I don't feel good a lot of the time. C'est la vie.

I'm sorry my updates have been a little late the past few weeks, we have been busy at work and moving. I really need to get back on schedule, which means I should be updating on Tuesdays because that is when I hit my new week. But we will see what the doctor says at our appointment on Monday. Maybe the baby is ahead of schedule. ;)

This week the baby is the size of a peach in length, so about 3 inches long. (And yes, I bought all 5 because they smelled so good and I want to make a peach cobbler this weekend!)

This is what Baby Center says about our baby this week:
"Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long and weighs nearly an ounce."

And the bump:
Next week's update will be much more exciting, I promise, because we get to see our baby on Monday (Brad's birthday!). So hopefully we will have a new picture of him/her to share!

Almost out of the first trimester! {12 weeks!}

We have been really busy lately, so let me fill you all in. We currently reside in a really small 2 bedroom apartment and honestly it only seems small because we have so much furniture from our previous house in Belgium. This was just not an ideal place to bring a baby into, because.. well... there isn't any room for a baby in this apartment. So we were throwing around the idea of buying a house here in Maryland. We figured that it would be more of a hassle than anything to buy, so we started looking for town homes to rent. We found this nice 3 story town home that was in our budget and accepting dogs. We signed the lease last week and we start moving in this Sunday. It will be nice to have room again. And it will also be nice to have a room for the baby. :)

Other than that, we are slowly exiting the first trimester and just when I think I am feeling better, I'm not. There is always something going on in my body to remind me that there is a human growing inside me. I guess there is hope in that, right?

I can actually feel my uterus now. It's growing and moving up, which is making my belly pop out a little more. Ooooh and a few nights ago I had a dream that I felt the baby move! It was so awesome. I still have another month before that is even possible in real life, but I'll take it in my dreams for now. :)

The Bump

Our little plum baby

We still have another week and a half until our next appointment. It seems like forever and ever away....

11 weeks!

I am a day late on posting this and I blame Taylor Swift. Brad took us to see Taylor Swift on Tuesday night which meant that I didn't get a nap on Tuesday, then I was up until midnight. On Wednesday, I was a zombie. Taylor Swift was a good show though. I was really glad that we finally got to see her.

I am almost out of the first trimester, finally. I still get bouts of nausea and I am tired ALL THE TIME. I am just ready to feel okay and pregnant, not awful and fat.

Look at all that fluff...

This week the baby is the size of a lime!

We still have 3 weeks until our next appointment. Time is moving in slow motion right now. But by then I will be in my second trimester and hopefully feeling better. So lots of things to look forward to. :)
